Crisp clean day at allotment today, something we've been sadly short of these past 12 months. So allotment looking better, water drained from previous flooding so task was to get feeding the soil and managed to spread a good mulch of manure around black currant bushes.

Soil still very soggy, so just have just spread on top, hopefully the worms will help take it down to where its needed.
Love this time of year and on a day like this most things seem possible, my dreams of growing some beautiful produce seem completely realistic, after all no way will it be as bad as last year.

I'm dreaming of prize winning squash, and gluts of beans and courgettes. No gluts last year- I missed them.
We've created an asparagus bed - a deep bed filled with manure compost and grit (asparagus need good drainage). Its an investment as we wont pick it for a couple of years, but I can taste it already.

These onions were up to their little necks in water for a few weeks last year, they seem to have pulled through without too much damage.

It will be good to see how the year goes, and in the mean time we are lucky to be surrounded by some beautiful scenery.

So this blog is for me.

I have started this blog just for me to let me keep a record on computer of my love of gardening, as I am also involved in a seed swap #seedypenpals and a chilli trial by @nolly then I can record my progress. As a resolution of mine is to increase my computer literacy this will help, who knows there may also be photos. Dont expect too much of yourself chick, just get on with it !
